Part-time Advice Worker Vacancy, £25k Pro Rata (21 hours)

The Carers Information Service provides free information, advice and a range of support services to unpaid carers who look after a family member, friend or neighbour due to illness, disability or old age. We are part of The Whitgift Foundation and run the Carers Support Centre in central Croydon, the one-stop shop for carers in the borough. 

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated Advice Worker to provide welfare benefits advice; generalist information and advice; and emotional support to carers on a wide range of issues. The role will also require casework.

The successful candidate will:

- Be a highly organised self-starter with excellent communication skills.

- Possess a strong working knowledge of carers’ needs and entitlements, with a particular knowledge and understanding of the welfare benefits system.

- Have a positive attitude and be able to stay calm under pressure.

Salary: £15,000 per annum (21 hours)
